‘Villon Song’ is Stick In the Wheel’s reinterpretation of William Ernest Henley’s 1887 translation of ‘Villon’s Straight Tip To All Cross Coves’ from 15th Century French poet Francois Villon, a thief and a murderer who wrote verse when serving out his various prison sentences. We conjured a dark shapeshifting character who menacingly stalks the land. The video features a mix of 2D hand drawn illustration and 3D character design.
